I created A Plumber’s Wife because I don’t think women doing this should have to figure all of it out alone.
Running a business with your husband can be really good. It can also be lonely, confusing, exhausting, and some days make you wonder why in the world you ever thought working together was a good idea.
You need women around you who actually get it. Not just friends who love you and mean well, but women who have sat at the kitchen table talking about payroll, worked through disagreements with their husband, raised kids in the middle of a growing company, questioned where they fit, and kept going.
And I don’t want this to be just about what I’ve learned. I want to learn from the women who have been doing this longer than me too.
That’s why I started the 100 Wives Project. I’m on a mission to interview 100 women who have built, or are still building, family businesses alongside their husbands. I want to hear what worked, what didn’t, what almost made them quit, what helped their marriage, and what they wish someone had told them years ago.
Because there are a lot of us doing this. We just need to find each other.
