let’s be friends

Hey! I’m Lallenia

I’m a wife, mom of six, business owner, and I’ve been a personal trainer since I was 18.

I married a plumber, Brad, and when we decided to start our plumbing company, he sold his Harley-Davidson to buy a drain machine.

Wasn’t quite as sexy, I know. 😂

We really had no idea what we were doing. We just knew we wanted to build something of our own.

That was about 16 years ago. Since then, we’ve grown Big Birge Plumbing into a multi-million dollar service and remodel company, started a property company, bought a few rental properties, and raised six kids at the same time.

So yes, Brad and I have spent a LOT of time figuring out how to be married, raise a family, and run businesses together.

We have six kids now, from teenager to a newborn, so life is pretty full. I’m still involved in the plumbing company, especially the marketing side of things. I still love fitness and lifting weights. I homeschool, bake sourdough, come up with way too many ideas for our house, and now I’m interviewing women for a podcast too. 😂

My life didn’t start out looking anything like it does today.

I had a hard childhood and was on my own pretty young. There was a time I never would have imagined I would have this family, this business, or this life.

I think that’s probably why I’ve always cared so much about helping people see that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you end up.

And now there’s A Plumber’s Wife.

After years of building a business with Brad, I started wondering why we don’t hear more from the wives who are doing this too.

The women answering phones, doing the books, handling the marketing, raising kids, hiring people, making decisions, worrying about payroll, working with their husbands all day and then going home with them at night. 😂

I wanted to talk to those women.

So I started the 100 Wives Project, and I’m on a mission to interview 100 women who have helped build family businesses alongside their husbands.

I want to know what it was really like.

What worked and what didn’t. What was hard on their marriage. What helped it. How they handled raising kids while growing a company. What they would do differently. And what they know now that they wish they knew when they started.

I’ve learned a lot from building Big Birge Plumbing with Brad, but there are women who have been doing this longer than I have and women doing it completely differently than we are.

I want to learn from them too. And I have a feeling a lot of other wives do too.

I know how you feel

Hey Mama, I know how you feel… balancing kids, a business, and the never-ending chaos of life. You love your family, but some days feel like a whirlwind of snacks, schedules, sneaking in work between diaper changes, teaching lessons, or shuttling kids to activities. It’s overwhelming, but you’re not alone. You don’t have to choose between being a great mom and building something meaningful—you can do both.

Here at A Plumber’s Wife, I believe in dreaming big with your husband by your side—without losing yourself in the process. Whether you’re brainstorming marketing ideas during nap time or answering emails with a toddler on your hip, I see you. This space is for encouragement, real stories, and practical advice to help you thrive at home and in business. So take a breath, grab that (probably cold) coffee, and let’s do this together! 💛
